Pink Awareness Pedal And  Walk Attracted Great Attention

İskele Municipality organized a “pink pedal and walk” event  this year as part of the 1-31 October Breast Cancer Awareness Month, in which, every year , it raises awareness to breast cancer. The event, which started with a bicycle ride and walk from İskele Ecevit Square, ended at İskele Municipality Public Beach. Mutlu Kanlı, who participated in the event with the fanciest bicycle in the event, supervised by the police from the Traffic Branch of the Iskele Police Department, won a daily accommodation for two people donated by Arkın Hotel.

Importance of promoting such events

Speaking on the occasion, İskele Mayor Hasan Sadıkoğlu drew attention to the importance of such events and stated that Iskele Municipality has carried out many activities as part of its social responsibility projects.  The event was organized with the contributions of Green Pedal Cycling members and the volunteers of the İskele Branch of the Association for Helping Cancer Patients and also supported by Assembly Members Ahmet Orun and Mürsel Atuntaş, 

Pink Pedal and Walk Well Supported 

October 1-31, Breast Cancer Awareness Month was celebrated with a meaningful and remarkable display of banners to raise awareness to the disease.  They included:

‘I Am Aware, I Am Strong, I Am Not Afraid’, Don’t Ignore It, You Should Have Your Cancer Screening’,
‘You Are in Control’, ‘Don’t Give Up Control, Your Breast Health Is in Your Hands’,
‘Everything Starts With Touch’, ‘Love Yourself, Come to Screening’, ‘Don’t Say Nothing Will Happen to Me, Don’t Neglect the Controls’,
‘If You Notice It Early, It Makes a Lot of Difference’, ‘Mom Control Your Life, I Need You’ . 

Sadikoğlu: “Early Diagnosis is of Vital Importance”

Speaking at the final of the event, İskele Mayor Hasan Sadıkoğlu emphasised that early diagnosis is vital. Early diagnosis means that this ailment process is eliminated in a shorter time, perhaps at the first intervention.” Mayor Sadıkoğlu added that as a municipality, they attach great importance to social responsibility projects and act with this awareness. Sadıkoğlu thanked everyone who contributed to the event.
