ARUCAD and Civil Disaster Team Association (SAT) Protocol signing

A cooperation protocol was signed between Arkin University of Creative Arts and Design (ARUCAD) and Civil Disaster Team Association (SAT) to develop joint projects in the fields of disaster management and emergency response. The protocol signed with ARUCAD, which provides a certain portion of the important equipment needed by the Civil Disaster Team Association in disaster situations, aims to increase social benefit and strengthen cooperation in possible disasters through the sharing of knowledge and experience of both institutions.

As part of the cooperation, ARUCAD and SAT plan to raise social awareness by organizing training, seminars and conferences, and to carry out joint studies for effective intervention in pre- and post-disaster processes. Within the scope of this cooperation, ARUCAD provides the equipment needed by SAT in disaster situations, making a significant contribution to the teams’ ability to carry out their operational activities more efficiently and quickly. This support will increase SAT’s response capacity and help vital operations to be carried out smoothly and effectively in times of disaster.

Working Together

ARUCAD Rector Prof. Dr. Asım Vehbi stated in his speech at the protocol signing ceremony that they were proud to cooperate with SAT in the field of disaster management. Vehbi said, “With the initiative of our University Founder Mr. Erbil Arkın and Board of Trustees Chairman Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sinan Arkın, we have provided our support as a University to provide the equipment SAT needs in disaster situations and we are ready to do more. We are aware of our social responsibilities and believe that by cooperating with SAT in disaster management, we will develop projects that are beneficial to society and that this cooperation will set an example for other institutions. I hereby call on all our institutions and organizations to strain their means and support these important efforts.”

Rector Vehbi stated that it was significant that this protocol signed with the SAT team, which volunteered in two of the three major fires experienced by Northern Cyprus and the February 6, 2023 Adıyaman Earthquake, coincided with the Isias case, and said, “Our hearts are with the Champion Angels and their families that we lost.”

Please with support from ARUCAD

SAT President Vet. Dr. Tayfun Çanakcı said regarding the cooperation, “We are very pleased with ARUCAD’s support for SAT, which has been operating voluntarily for 12 years. I hope that this protocol we have signed with ARUCAD will set an example for other universities. It will lead to platforms that will bring university students and associations together. Such collaborations are of great importance for us to reach a safer future.”

This collaboration will enable ARUCAD and SAT to combine their knowledge and carry out important projects in the fields of disaster management and social resilience.
