Beach Cleaning and our young people are working so hard

The Deputy Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment continues to carry out beach cleaning activities that will continue throughout the summer months in order to keep our beaches clean, to ensure that those who will use our beaches have a good time on healthy and clean beaches, as well as to raise awareness by increasing environmental awareness.

Although our beach cleaning teams, consisting of young people who are completely sensitive to the environment, carry out cleaning works 2 times a day, in the morning and evening, as 5 groups in 4 regions, including Famagusta, İskele, Yeniboğaziçi and Tatlısu beaches, unfortunately, the images of beach garbage  do not change.

Famagusta group; The amount of garbage collected between Palm Beach and Devran Beach and on the Glapsides coast, the Yeniboğaziçi group in the Salamis Hotel Area and Yeniboğaziçi Public Beach area, and the İskele and Tatlısu team in the Public Beach areas, the amount of garbage collected in the environmental cleaning activities they carry out twice a day every day does not change.

In the face of the exemplary behaviour of environmentally conscious young people, the insensitive and irresponsible attitudes of those who use the beaches bring up the issue of not being sorry for the efforts of young people, beyond insensitivity to the environment.

 “THESE BEACHES DON’T JUST BELONG TO PEOPLE!”

Knowing the fact that the beaches of our country, which allow people to have a good time in order to cool off in hot weather, do not belong only to people, we should realize that we have to act more sensitively to the environment, acting on the fact that we have been entrusted to future generations, without forgetting that the beaches, our country and even our world are our common living space with all living things.

We underline the need to be treated more sensitively and with more respect, especially in return for the efforts of those who use our beaches, our young people organized by the Ministry, with great devotion and exemplary action.
